About Blogging the Noosphere

This website will be dedicated to providing a resource of my public and professional persona. This website will contain much more personal information than I have typically done in the past for a personal web site. I hope to still provide a complete resource of my professional activities here for people, including publications, presentations, class information, source code, etc. However, I want it to also be a much more active and personal website than I have done in the past.

So, I will be covering many topics of interest to me in my professional and personal life, though most could be generally thought of as being related to computers and other techno-geekery. Some of the topics I hope to cover of personal and professional interest include: science & technology, intelligence & cognition, post-humanist & singularity science fiction, evolution, software development, complex adaptive systems, science & public policy, and many more.

I am always in ever present danger of time-sucking procrastination activities, and as such have resisted till now the siren call of the blog. So a current goal, in order to keep this sites content active and up to date, is to post nor more than once a day (really), but at least once or twice a week.

I am doing this website for several reasons. I know it will mostly be a resource for people to obtain my professional products. I do hope that it might be of some use to students, particularly, to not only see some of the ideas that excite me and drive my research, but to get a view of some of the possibilities available to them in this exciting time and field. Hopefully other researchers as well will find the materials and thoughts here of some value. But of course, ultimately I am doing the website for myself, to gather my meta-self together and to better experience and understand the current trends of our society and technology.
